Ingredients

·

Fresh Mint Leaves – 1 small bunch (about 15–20 leaves)

·

·

Lemon or Lime – 2 medium-sized (juiced)

·

·

Honey or Brown Sugar – 2 tablespoons (to taste)

·

·

Chilled Sparkling Water / Soda Water – 2 cups

·

·

Crushed Ice – 1 cup

Instructions

1.

Prepare the mint base

2.

Wash the mint leaves thoroughly.

In a sturdy glass or jug, add mint leaves and sugar/honey.

Use a muddler (or the back of a spoon) to gently crush the mint leaves. This releases the natural oils and aroma.

3.

Add citrus punch

4.

Squeeze fresh lemon or lime juice directly into the glass/jug.

Mix gently with the muddled mint.

5.

Chill it up

6.

Add crushed ice to the mixture.

Pour in chilled sparkling water or soda water slowly.

7.

Final touch

8.

Stir lightly so mint leaves and lime juice spread evenly.

Garnish with lemon slices, extra mint sprigs, and cucumber if you like.

9.

Serve immediately

10.

Best enjoyed cold and fresh to preserve the minty aroma.
